“I wanted to reach out to you and tell you that I have been pleased with your level of professionalism and for giving XSPlatforms Americas, Inc. such great service.

As you know, I do not typically handle our shipping and receiving, but during these times I have jumped in to make sure that we keep our doors open.

You have helped us during this time and from the beginning it has been a pleasant business relationship with you and InXpress. The shipping business is very competitive, but service is paramount.
And when things do not go perfectly, you have been there to assist in the matter and help be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

I do not just endorse anyone without justification and so here are some of the highlights since we have been working together:

  • You answer your phone or you call back right away.
  • You listen.
  • You have been honest and straightforward.
  • You do what you say you are going to do.
  • You are someone I have faith that will get the job done.
  • You are provide great pricing for freight.

These are some of the facts that will encourage XSPlatforms Americas Inc., to continue to utilize Ryan Kidd and InXpress in the future for our freight shipping needs.
We did discuss the possibility of expanding our international shipping, and thank you for a couple of suggestions.

We will have to continue that discussion as international shipping is another animal.
Ultimately, any way that we can save money, be more efficient, and with less hassle is what we strive to do, so there is always room for improvements.

When we are talking about our HQ in the Netherlands, I need to be able to present a clear plan with specific details in order for them to consider changing things.

We currently are able to call a shipping broker who handles our shipment when they get to port, but I think if we could come up with a plan to go door to door from the Netherlands to Chico, CA without creating more work for the Netherlands, and for us, then we may have something. And of course saving money along the way is a must.

I look forward to many more years of doing business together, as our shipping needs are only going to be greater from this point forward.

We just had the best month in Fall Protection Sales in our US history (10 years), and this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Q & A

When do you feel most energized in your work and what does that say about your leadership style?

I feel most energized when I’m improving something that’s not working — whether that’s a sales process, a team workflow, or the customer experience. I’m at my best when I can take a messy situation, create structure, and then drive consistent execution until results show up. I also get a lot of energy from really getting into the details, learning new things, and becoming proficient quickly — especially when it helps the team and the business perform better.

That says my leadership style is hands-on, coach-oriented, and data-driven. I lead by setting clear expectations, building repeatable systems, and holding people accountable — while also being highly supportive and willing to jump in alongside the team to remove obstacles and keep momentum.

What originally inspired your leadership journey, and how has your perspective evolved as you’ve risen into more senior roles?

I was inspired to lead because I’ve always genuinely cared about the success of the person and the business. Early in my career, I naturally became someone people leaned on — not just to solve problems, but to help them perform better, gain confidence, and win. I’ve always been motivated by helping others succeed while still holding a high standard for results.

As I’ve grown into more senior roles, my leadership has evolved from being primarily hands-on to focusing more on coaching, accountability, and building repeatable systems that scale outcomes. Today I lead by creating clarity, setting standards, and staying close enough to the people and the work to remove obstacles — while pushing for consistent execution and measurable improvement.

What is a high-stakes challenge you faced as a leader, how did you approach it, and what did you learn?

A high-stakes challenge I faced as a leader was reopening a Juice It Up location that had been closed. The urgency was high because we needed to reopen as fast as possible to rebuild revenue, customer trust, and team momentum. We were able to reopen within two weeks, which required rapid decision-making and intense execution.

I immediately created structure around the essentials: staffing and training, inventory and vendor ordering, and clear daily operating standards. I led hands-on in the beginning, but focused quickly on coaching and accountability so the team could execute consistently.

What I learned is that strong leadership under pressure comes from clarity, prioritization, and calm execution — not panic. When people understand the plan and feel supported, they can deliver results fast.

What principles or values consistently guide your decisions across teams, companies, or initiatives?

My decisions are consistently guided by integrity and transparency, clarity and structure, and a people-first leadership approach. I believe in being direct, honest, and doing what’s right for both the customer and the business. I prioritize creating clear expectations, simple processes, and strong communication so teams can execute consistently. I genuinely care about helping people succeed, grow, and gain confidence, and I enjoy coaching and removing obstacles so performance improves. I also stay focused on measurable results and continuous improvement, always looking for ways to make the business stronger over time.

If you could be remembered for one defining impact you’ve made on people, organizations, or culture, what would it be and why?

If I could be remembered for one defining impact, it would be that I genuinely cared about people and their success — and helped them achieve it in a repeatable way. I’ve always focused on breaking down goals into simple, clear steps so people feel confident and can execute consistently. I also bring a level of fun and positive energy because I believe strong culture drives strong performance. That’s the legacy I’d want: helping people grow, win, and believe in themselves through clarity, coaching, and encouragement.
